I Got Thrifty + More Get to Know Me

So I went THRIFTING the other week (how good of a blogger am I? Come on, really.)

And this is what I got:

This adorable deer pin. I've been super into deer recently, I don't know what it is about them; they're just so darn cute. $2

A gold bracelet with little heart and bell charms. Perfect for stacking since it's itty bitty. $4

These camo boots for Carter. Need I say more? Just look at them. $5
(P.S. For you blogging + instagram pros. Is there a way to post instagram pics bigger without making them look horrid?)

I also got C an awesome Ralph Lauren sweater ($7), but it's in the wash so you can't see it, sorry. It's navy with red stripes. Visualize.

So now I know that I can be thrifty once in a while (it doesn't come naturally to me, neither do sales. I'm the kind of person that seems to only go shopping right when all the sales have ended. I think along with becoming a mom, you kind of pick up a sense for these things though and I'm improving. Either that or you realize how much you're spending on diapers and other nonsense and you realize you better smarten up if you ever want to purchase mascara again).

Now that we have that out of the way here are a few random things you may not know. Actually, just one. I think it's random/weird enough to hold you over until I can think of something else.

I used to own a motorcycle. WHAT?? Yup. I was a sophomore (or junior) in high school. It was a Kawasaki (a KZ550 LTD to be exact. Oh, this means nothing to you? Same here.) I think it was a 1998.  I only rode it twice and I tipped it twice. It was WAY TOO BIG for me. haha When I sat on it my toes could jjuusstt touched the ground. I like to think that if it was a bit smaller I could have actually been  successful with my coolness. Not so much though. I had big plans to paint it black with pink flames, but that never happened either.

This one's from Craigslist, it's not my actual motorcycle, but it looked similar.
I still like to say I have my motorcycle permit even though it expired like 47 years ago. So just pretend with me, OK? Hopefully when Carter's 17 he'll think motorcycles are for losers since his mom owned one once. Crossing my fingers on that one.

Oh and in case there are any other thriftily-challenged people out there, I'm going to help you out (you're welcome). Here are 10 free book marks from Paper Coterie that I thought I'd share with you because if you're like me, you never have a bookmark and you fold the corner of your page (annoying to anyone reading the book after you). There, now we're all happy. Download them here.

Okay, where, pray tell, can I find cute things like that while thrifting?! I NEVER find anything cute like that! One time, I hit a Salvation Army (god I can't believe I'm actually saying this...) after some prepster unloaded a bunch of baby clothes, and I got a ton of cute new Ralph Lauren stuff for Ben, but every other time I've gone, I've been creeped out by the people (including one wierdo old lady that gave ESKIMO KISSES with her NOSE to Benjamin while I was wearing him in the Ergo... WTF). Help a mama out - where did you find such cute things?!
