I'm Alive | Shopping Madness

Helloooo!!! Long time no talk! Life has been cra-hiz-nuts over here. I'm not accepting sponsors for the meantime, but I'll still be here chatting away randomly throughout the week. Since we last "spoke," Beauty Mavens has had a bridal consultation, two proms, and a big wedding! It has been nonstop and so much fun. I have LOTS of photos to post! Our big bridal expo in Boston is in just about a week!! There has been lots of and lots of preparation for that which is so time consuming, but so ridiculously fun at the same time.

Oh, and guess what. I had the happiest mail day of all time this weekend because my MAC Pro card came, which means....drum roll please....I get 40% off at MAC now! The skies have parted, the sun is shining down, and angels are serenading me. That's how it feels. Do you know the fun I am going to have with that discount? If my life wasn't complete before, it sure as heck is now.

You know what else would make my life complete?

THESE SHOES. They're the Jacey sandals from ShoeDazzle.

These are so fun. I would wear them every day. (You can find them here.)

I used to have a subscription to ShoeDazzle, but somewhere along the way I ended up canceling it. These shoes are sucking me back in. I love how summery they are. They make me yearn for 90 degree weather (which we're getting tomorrow!!)

I'm off to get some more work done, but I'll be back tomorrow with a Mia Mariu review and giveaway, as well as lots of makeup photos in the next couple of days!

Thanks to ShoeDazzle for sponsoring today's post.

Sperrys + Fall + Eyebrows

Fall Sperry Look

Burberry slim fit shirt / Blazer / True Religion true-religion jeans / Sperry Top-Sider sequin shoes / Charlotte Russe set of bangles / Anchor jewelry

Guys, I'm kind of over summer right now. I want to wear this pronto! Guess what else? I'm organizing a little nude lip gloss post at the moment (well I was, you can't really organize one blog post and write another simultaneously, can you? more experience bloggers, please enlighten me.)

I really, really want to put some jeans on without sweating. That would be ideal.

So Carter wasn't really a fan of my organizing my lip gloss this morning. He started whipping all my makeup out of my makeup bag and putting my brushes on THE BATHROOM FLOOR. Hygienic  yes? Guess there's a night of brush washing ahead  for me tonight. Woo-hoo!

P.S. Are you brave enough to wax your own eyebrows at home? I do all the time because when I go out and get them done they're always too skinny or the wrong shape. Darn estheticians. Well I picked up some of this stuff at Sally's and let me tell you. BEST PURCHASE EVER. It doesn't leave your skin all red and puffy like traditional wax and you can actually leave the house after doing your eyebrows without looking like you got punched in both eyes. Oh, I'm the only one that reacts to eyebrow waxing like this? Whatevs. Anyway, if you're like me and regular wax kind of kills you, this is for you. You also don't need any strips. It just dries on your skin and you pull it off. Say whaaatttt???? Your kids will be terrified of you while it's drying, but it's aight, they'll get over it. Carter did.

Toodles.

Monday, July 2

weekend.

Friday night I stayed up late to work. When I went up to bed, I saw this:

Pretty perfect, right?

Then on Saturday my cousin got married and it was all sorts of loveliness.

Carter lost his tie pretty quickly after the ceremony. Boys.
and Auntie Ariel made sure it got used.
flower in the nose...obviously.

Plenty of wine was consumed...plenty. And we had a wonderful cousin-reunion. I also got to see some amahzing girls that I went to school with!

And baby feet are the best.

Thinking of a makeup tutorial for tomorrow...thoughts? Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Shopping Compulsions: Shoes

There are a few things I just can't get off my mind lately.

These sneakers are number 1.
I can't even tell you how bad I want these. They are the most beautiful sneakers I've ever seen. The only problem is, I have perfectly good Nikes that still look brand new. It just seems unnecessary to have two. Worth it, though? Yes. I got pinning anxiety when I pinned them on Pinterest. Do you ever get that? I just had the feeling that everyone and their sister would repin them, they would all get bought, and I'd be left with nothing. I hate that feeling. I need a secret, private pin board for my really stellar pins.
I am pretty against Crocs when it comes to the general population (although I wouldn't mind if Tom got them because it would be hilarious to see Men's size 15 Crocs just hanging around), but when it comes to kids I say a big HECK YES! I don't know about your kiddos, but we don't sit still to put shoes on in this house. No laces are a must and Crocs are so easy to clean and don't get ruined with frequent outdoor playing. Plus, for some reason, they look ridiculously cute with little toddler legs sticking out of them.

Tom just had a little outing with Carter and bought these sneakers.

This is huge. Normally, if you are on the hunt for exceptionally large sneakers, this is all you find:

Hot, right? Needless to say, his new Nikes are a rare find. Usually when you find decent shoes (unlike their velcro counterparts) they are sold out everywhere because all the other big footed men got there first.

I am also loving these shoes for toddler boys:

Carter and Daddy would match!

I'm going to have to work very hard not to go shopping on this rainy Monday.
