So I had my makeup consultation today. It went AWESOME. I now have a real, almost set in stone plan for the classes I"m going to take and when I can start booking clients! (scream, scream, scream, yell like a little girl). It was beyond exciting.
The makeup artist himself was all sorts of amazing. He is SO nice, told me I did a good job on my own makeup (instant best friends--this is probably what he was going for seeing as he wants me to pay him the dough--it worked). And I got to tour the huge/awesome facility. There is a separate eyebrow and eyelash room. Swoon. I was basically completely in my element and having so much fun just looking around at all the photography studios, etc. We talked about the celebs he has done (Sarah Jessica Parker, and a bazillion others) and I kind of got a little giddy. I saw his autographs and his super awesome vintage makeup collection. SO, SO cool.
I really don't have words for anything else because I'm consumed with makeup right now, and I don't want to bore you within in inch of your life. All I want to do is go figure out how I get discounts at every makeup store once I'm an official makeup artist. So that's what I plan to do right now ; ) You know me, always contemplating my next shopping move.
So I'll leave you with a picture of my two-tone hair that I'm loving that I was supposed to post like a month or so ago (sorry about that). And some photos of Carter at Halloween. He was an 80s rocker (fake earring and all). My sister and I were groupies, Tom was security. Carter has a mullet that I refuse to cut so we had to take advantage, you know?
(oh and excuse my random hair loop in the Halloween photo)

Too Early for Halloween? + updates
Yo, sup, readers? OK, I won't talk like that, promise.
I'm getting super excited for Halloween!! And it's not just because we need to try to top our costumes from last year. (PS This post was from back when I didn't tell anyone about my blog and it was just my little secret. We had some good secret times back then, bloggy).
Here are some photos from last year, if you're not feeling the whole clicking the link thing.
Just in case you're a bit flighty today--we were a lifeguard, a shark and a shark attack victim. The best costumes come together at the last minute. We made these about 15 minutes before these photos were taken. I used a cut up disposable diaper to make my arm look half eaten. Those things come in handy for more than just catching poop, I tell you.
Speaking of Halloween, my sweet affiliate friends over at Paper Coterie have some pretty great Halloween stuff--tags, cards, posters. I'm getting these little tags to put on small bags of candy for our neighbors' kids.
On to other updates...today we found out (through a scratch test) that Carter's officially allergic to sesame. I had mixed feelings. I'm sad that he has a food allergy (although we knew he did), but I'm happy to have an actual answer.
Get pretty excited because tomorrow (or Friday) you're going to see some adorable little things I picked up while thrifting (do you see how good of a blogger I am? Thrifting?!) I'm trying guys, I'm really trying.

| So, this image quality is terrible, but you get the idea. I'm putting a little poem on the back called "Spooks" |

Halloween
Our Halloween got rescheduled to last night because of power outages last week (we lost it at our house for about 4 days and had to go stay with my parents because we didn't have heat). Before Halloween we were planning on C being the E*Trade baby--hilarious? Yes.
Well three days ago I was at Old Navy scouring the clearance racks when I happened upon an awesome baby costume for $4.79 (the beauty of a rescheduled Halloween). We already had a costume for C, but I couldn't pass up the good deal. At first we weren't sure if we would use it, but yesterday we started chatting in the car while out doing errands and we decided we wanted to join in on the dress up fun. So instead of C being the E*Trade baby (what would we have gone as? A mug and a Blackberry?) he was the $4.79 costume from Old Navy. We had tons of fun!
